Q:What are the system requirements for using WpPDE?
For using WpPDE to develop plugins you need WordPress 3.3+. The plugins created using WpPDE can be used on WordPress versions 3.0+.
Our development takes place using FireFox as the main browser. You can be sure that WpPDE works well with FireFox. We do some testing on Chrome and Safari. We do not do much testing on IE – but hopefully it should work. Note that these requirements are for using WpPDE itself. Not the plugins created using WpPDE.
Q:Why do we need the projects folder in the WpPDE plugin directory?
Whenever a plugin is saved (using the Save Plugin button), WpPDE generates the plugin files. This ensures that the latest changes are available for testing them in the installation. WpPDE generates these files in the projects folder. Each user gets his/her own sub directory under this projects folder. WpPDE also uses the projects folder while generating the downloadable ZIP file.
